Project to have Heritage School students "buddy" with Woodland Meadows students to teach reading skills using picture books.  Every 2-3 weeks, Heritage students will travel to Woodland Meadows to work with their assigned buddy.  Prior to each meeting, Heritage students will learn, practice, and prepare to teach a reading skill.  Picture books required by the project are needed throughout the year so it will be difficult to rely on the Heritage media center.  Budget is for 65 picture books.

Classroom Speed Stacking - The Need for Speed

Project to enhance the physical fitness of students through an indoor classroom activity called speed stacking.  Speed stacking is an individual and team sport where participants stack and unstack 12 specially designed cups in pre-determined sequences.  The project was begun last year with the help of a Foundation grant that funded 30 speed stacking sets.  This request supports classroom-, school-, and district-wide tournaments.  Budget is $700 for 30 timer mats and $89 for a tournament display.
